Habitat for Humanity

St. Andrew the Apostle is now a member of "CARITAS", the new valley wide Catholic Coalition. The coalition includes various Catholic parishes, schools and faith organizations. The coalition was put together to continue to assist Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to build housing for those in need.

In addition, one of the benefits is the opportunity to work alongside various other CARITAS volunteers during many of our build dates. It is our hope that as time moves forward more Catholic interests will come forward and join this coalition to assist us all. Currently, the Catholic coalition is comprised of the following partners in addition to St. Andrew: St. Patrick, Notre Dame High School, the Casa (Franciscan Renewal Center). Our next Coalition build will be in January 2019.

Thank you to everyone who played such a vital role in the construction of the new home for the Shire Family! A special thanks to Mike Swanson and Ed Flynn for their leadership!

The Home Dedication was held in Tempe on Saturday, July 23, 2018 and the keys were presented to the Shire family in a special Home Dedication ceremony. Fr. Edward Urassa blessed the home.

DID YOU KNOW….Habitat for Humanity is not a giveaway program, it is a ‘hand up, not a hand out’. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.

THANK YOU to all who have donated of their time, skills and money to help us continue building affordable housing for low-income families!
